A Greener Home

Green Cleaning

It is important to maintain a clean home to keep your family in excellent health. Unfortunately, many cleaning products on the market today add toxic, unnatural ingredients that are harmful to the environment and may even have negative effects on your body1. Even some products boasting “all-natural” ingredients contain harmful chemicals that are unregulated by the government.2

If you’re seeking green safe cleaning products for the general well-being of your family and the environment, your Enagic® water ionizing machine is the perfect place to start! You can make your own household cleaning products that will not pose risks to your family. Discover the Enagic® advantage, and enjoy a chemical-free home.

Bathroom

Although second in line for the germiest room in your home, the bathroom is certainly a large breeding ground for bacteria. Your bathtub is actually the dirtiest place in your bathroom, according to recent studies3. In fact, the most recent study found staphylococcus bacteria, which causes skin infections, in 26% of bathtubs tested. The other pathogen-friendly areas to watch out for are bath towels, toothbrushes, countertops, the toilet, and the bathroom sink. Here are a few pointers to keep your bathroom squeaky clean, safely:

1. Scrub the Tub

Wash your bathtub once or twice a week with Strong Kangen Water Cleaner to fight tough dirt and stains, and then Strong Acidic Water to disinfect and stop germs from spreading. Keep a spray bottle of each in your bathroom so cleaning is a breeze.

2. Clean Your Toothbrush

Besides switching your toothbrush out every 3 months, you should routinely disinfect it with Strong Acidic Water. Once a week, spray your toothbrush with Strong Acidic Water and then rinse with Kangen Water®.

3. Designate the Towels

To keep family members from sharing bacteria and germs, designate a different color to each person. Also, wash towels once a week with Kangen Laundry Detergent.

4. Keep the Toilet Clean (Without Bleach)

Thanks to Enagic®, you do not have to use bleach to keep your toilet sparkling clean! With your Strong Acidic Water spray bottle, attack toilet bowl germs 2 or 3 times a week. For stubborn toilet bowl stains, use full-strength Strong Kangen Water.

5. Clean with Confidence

Clean all over surfaces with Strong Kangen Water Cleaner, including doorknobs, cabinet hardware, sinks and faucets, floors, etc. Feel confident knowing that you’re keeping your home safe, spotless, and green.

Kitchen

The kitchen is a petri dish of germs, with more bacteria than even your bathroom!4 With so many pathogens lurking about your countertops, cutting boards, sponges, and dish rags, you need Enagic® to help you maintain a safe, clean kitchen. Here are some helpful tips to ward off the germs in the kitchen:

1. Clean Your Sponges

Wash your sponges regularly in the dishwasher with Homemade Dishwater Detergent, and microwave them for two minutes while still damp. This can help remove germs that easily spread from your sponge to your countertops and dishes.

2. Wash Your Kitchen Towels with Kangen Laundry Detergent

Just like your moist sponge is a breeding ground for germs, your damp dishrags may be dirty culprits in spreading microscopic germs around your kitchen and hands. Make sure to wash your kitchen towels in Kangen Laundry Detergent.

3. Keep It Clean

Use the All-Purpose Strong Kangen Water Cleaner to wipe away germs from cutting boards, your sink and faucet, garbage cans, countertops, cabinet hardware, knives, floors with messy spills, etc. Strong Kangen Water is a powerful all-purpose cleaner that fights grime, grease, stains, germs, and dirt all over your house. You should then spray these items with Strong Acidic Water, which acts as a disinfectant. Keep two spray bottles of these extra strength cleaners close by, and keep germs at bay!

4. Wash Your Hands

Before and after handling food, be sure to wash your hands. The Enagic® Hand Sanitizer will help keep your hands disinfected with Strong Acidic Water as you prepare healthy foods and cook delicious meals for your family.

Window Cleaning

When you open the window shades to let the natural sunlight shine through your home, the last sights you want to see are dust build-up or streaks left behind from a window cleaner. How can you achieve crystal clear windows without the use of chemicals? Strong Kangen Water, along with a few other basic and natural household ingredients! Add the baking soda, and keep stirring.

Add your favorite essential oil.

Use 1/2 cup to 1 cup per load.

Remember, if you plan on sharing your Kangen Laundry Detergent with other eco- and health-conscious people in your community, make sure to write down the contents of your all-natural detergent!

Stain Remover

Keep a spray bottle of Strong Kangen Water on hand for stains. It works amazingly well on oily stains and other food-based stains on clothing.

For stains on white clothing, add some lemon oil or lemon juice, spray on stained whites and line dry in the sun to remove stains.

For difficult and/or set-in stains:
Fill a bucket with Strong Kangen Water and soak whites overnight, then wash in washing machine the next day, and line dry in bright sunlight to whiten whites.

Homemade Dishwater Detergent

  • 1 cup washing soda
  • 1 cup Borax (ONLY if you have well water)
  • 2 Tablespoons sea salt

Directions:

Thoroughly mix together and keep in an air-tight container. Add 1 to 2 Tablespoon of the mixture to each load. If your dishes are cloudy, add a little vinegar or a small drop of Strong Kangen Water Dish Soap (below) to the rinse cycle to reduce cloudiness.

Strong Kangen Water Dish Soap

Lemon

  • 3 Tablespoons liquid castile soap (see below)
  • 2 cups Strong Kangen Water
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable glycerine
  • 2 Tablespoons white vinegar or lemon juice
  • 10 drops essential oil (optional)

Directions:

Combine in recycled dish soap bottle and shake to blend.

Kangen Water® Liquid Castile Soap1

  • 16 oz Sunflower Oil
  • 5.5 oz Potassium Chloride
  • 16 oz distilled Kangen Water® (collected with a steam boiler)
  • 40 oz Kangen Water®
  • Essential Oil (optional)

Directions:

Blend
Pour the sunflower oil into a crock pot, with the heat on high. In a separate bowl, mix the potassium chloride with the distilled Kangen Water®. This mixture will become a lye. Add the lye to the crock pot. Mix together using a hand-held stick blender on low until you create a paste. Pour the regular Kangen Water® into the crock pot and combine using the stick blender.

Cook
Check the crock pot every hour. If the paste is separating, mix it with the stick blender. If not, stir with a wooden spoon. The consistency will change from a paste to something resembling applesauce. If it ever looks sticky and hard like taffy, use a potato masher to break it up. Once the mixture resembles petroleum jelly, your liquid castile soap is almost done.

Test
Not you must test the soap to see if it is done. Boil some Kangen Water® in a kettle and measure 2 oz into a clear measuring cup along with 1 oz of the soap mixture. Stir it with a spoon until the soap dissolves in the water. If it is cloudy, the soap is ready. If the mixture appears milky, the soap has not cooked long enough and needs to go back to the crock pot.

Once the consistency of the mixture is a bit cloudy, you can add a few drops of essential oil for a light scent. 6-8 drops is usually enough.

Pour warm liquid castile soap into bottles and allow to cool before using.

Beauty Water Soap

There are several things you need to know before making Beauty Water Soap. Lye is an irritating agent that can be dangerous to your eyes and throat. Handle carefully, with rubber gloves and safety glasses, and keep far away from children. Also, the utensils, safety glasses, gloves, kettle, etc. should all be reserved for soap-making. Do not use these items for any other purpose. Finally, measure all your ingredients by weight, not volume.

  • 21.8 oz Olive Oil
  • 5.3 oz Palm Oil
  • 5.3 oz Coconut Oil
  • 4.3 oz Lye
  • 11.9 oz cold Beauty Water

Directions:

Combination of 4 tsp. fragrant oil + 1 tsp. herb. Our favorite combinations are rosemary oil with thyme leaves, lemongrass oil with sage leaves, rosewood oil and bergamot herb, or lavender oil with sage leaves.

Carefully pour lye into cold Beauty Water, stirring slowly to avoid splashes. This lye mixture will quickly start to heat up in a powerful chemical reaction. Set aside. Now melt the oils together and let them chill to 120 degrees. Cool the lye mixture in cold Neutral Water in the sink until it chills to 120 degrees. When the oils and lye mixture are the same temperature, pour the lye mixture carefully into the oil mixture, stirring slowly. Continue stirring for 45 – 55 min, until it reaches trace (when you can see swirls). Now add the fragrant oil and herb. Pour the mixture into decorative molds, being careful not to splash or make bubbles. Cover with plastic wrap.

After 24 to 48 hours, the soap can be turned out of the mold. Allow to cure for 3 to 4 more weeks, making sure the air can circulate all around the soap (or you can turn and rotate the bars every 2 days).

These beautiful soaps make wonderful gift items. Just be sure to let everyone know how healthy the Beauty Water Soaps are for their skin!

A Greener Garden With Kangen Water®.

Gardening with Enagic® Water is a great way to keep your plants and flowers healthy, enlivened, and lush. Just like your body needs clean, alkaline, and chlorine-free Kangen Water® for improved health, your plants also need the healthy water for optimal growth and nourishment. The water from your Enagic® machine can even revitalize weak plants, making them stronger and more vibrant than ever before! Enagic® Water stimulates germination and improves seedling development, leaving your plants in peak condition without the use of harmful chemicals.

Nourishing vegetables and flowers with Enagic® Water in your own garden means you can save money at the grocery store and florist, reduce (or eliminate) the amount of pesticides in your home, and even cut down on all the wasted resources associated with transporting plants, flowers, and produce across the globe. Lowering your carbon footprint has never been so rewarding! You can even use your fragrant flowers to make your ownperfume.

Get back to basics, and discover how your Enagic® machine can help you grow a green, beautiful garden.

You first need to decide which Enagic® Water is right for your plants. Plants have different preferences in pH for water and soil, and the water you use will have a big impact on your plant health and growth2. Here is a general list of the plants that thrive in slightly alkaline, neutral, and slightly acidic water and soil:

Plants that Prefer Slightly Alkaline Kangen Water®

(pH 8.5 – 9.5)

Most of these plants show optimal growth in the 7.5 – 8.5, so you can experiment between Kangen Water® 8.5 and Neutral Water (pH 7.0) to find the best results. The pH of your soil will have a big impact on which water you should use. These plants include: asparagus, beets, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, carrots, mushrooms, parsley, geraniums, irises, phlox, vinca, hydrangeas (for pink blooms), and lilacs. Hydrangeas are a rare plant, as the pH of your water will change the color of the blooms.

Plants that Prefer Slightly Acidic Water

(pH 4.0 – 6.0)

Some plants prefer slightly acidic water and soil. Set your SD501 to pH 5.0 for the following vegetables and plants: rhododendrons, begonias, azaleas, heathers, hydrangeas (for blue blooms), peanuts, cucumbers, potatoes, dill, leeks, chili peppers, eggplant, garlic, chives, artichoke, tomatoes, and most berries. Roses grow most vibrantly with pH 5.5 – 6.5, so you may want to experiment with Slightly Acidic Water (set at pH 6.0) and Neutral Water (pH 7.0) to see which one yields the healthiest roses with your particular soil. Remember to always take into consideration the pH of your soil when you choose which Enagic® Water to use on your plants.

Plants that Prefer Neutral Water
(pH 7.0)

Many vegetables and plants thrive in a neutral pH. These plants include spinach, parsnips, dahlias, chrysanthemums, brussels sprouts, sweet peas, broccoli, asparagus, beans, avocado, cantaloupe, kiwi, mint, lettuce, onions, yams, radishes, squash, bell peppers, and tulips. Use Enagic® Neutral Water to keep these plants hydrated and healthy.

No matter which Enagic® Water you choose for your garden, you can have peace of mind that your plants will be healthy with this clean, high-quality water. And think of how delicious your fruits and vegetables will taste after they’ve been watered with your Enagic® machine instead of chlorinated tap water!

Composting with Kangen Water

The benefits of composting go beyond reducing waste and decreasing hazardous methane gas produced by landfills1. Composting is quite functional as a soil amendment and can improve the physical, chemical, and biological properties of

soil, which creates healthier and stronger plants in your garden1. Compost contains the three main plant nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium), as well as healthy bacteria, yeast, and fungi that will help keep your plants strong and even prevent diseases. Recycling organic materials in a compost pile will help keep your plants and soil healthy, so you can take pride in your eco-conscious lifestyle that promotes a greener Earth.

How To Get Started

You can choose to compost indoors or outdoors, and you’ll find many different designs and styles of compost bins in most garden supply stores. Of course, you can always build your own compost pile from items in your garage (chicken wire, scrap lumber, cement blocks, etc). Do a little research to find out the best solution for your home and lifestyle.

Here are the basic guidelines for starting your own compost pile-

A general rule is to use 3 parts “Brown” to every 1 part “Green

Greens: grass clippings, leaves, weeds, kitchen scraps (fruits, vegetables, coffee grounds, tea leaves, etc)

Browns: dried grass or leaves, cornstalks, straw, wood shavings (with moderation)

Do not compost: meat, bones, dairy products, ashes, paper

Keep your compost pile aerated, turning frequently

Water, water, water! 50-60% of your compost pile should be water. This is a difficult amount to guess, so a good rule of thumb is to make sure your compost feels moist but not soggy – like a wrung out sponge.

Enagic® Water is an outstanding ingredient for compost. Why add tap or bottle water to your fresh compost, which may contain traces of chlorine, lead, and other contaminants? Enagic® Water is clean, filtered, and easily accessible.

To know which water to use for your compost, you should first test the pH of your soil. The ideal soil pH is about 6.3 – 6.8, which is very slightly acidic. If you find that your soil is already too acidic, you should use Kangen Water® to create a healthier balance. If your soil is too alkaline, try Slightly Acidic Water in your compost. Finally, you can use clean Neutral Water in your compost pile if your soil is already balanced perfectly.

Just like Enagic® Water is the healthy choice for you and your plants, it is also the ideal water for your compost pile. Your plants and flowers will thrive beautifully after they’ve been nourished with Kangen Compost!

Advantages of Different Types of Water for Gardening

Kangen Water® is well known for its benefits to people.  The Kangen Water Machineprovides a healthy pH and ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential) for drinking water for us humans.  But there are 5 different types of water which are provided by this machine. You can select the pH of the water you want to use for a particular application, without using any chemicals.

Now, many owners of Kangen Water Machines are taking advantage of this flexibility to provide nourishment for plants, and for gardens.

“Using the 5.5 pH Kangen Water on my tomato patch produced so many tomatoes the vines were constantly needing to be propped up even after the typical growing season was over here in Canada.  I also use the 5.5 pH Kangen Water with my cut flowers and they lasted at least two times longer than usual!   Kennith Walters, Calgary Alberta

There are two reasons why variations of  waters provided by the Kangen Water Machine are helpful in providing nourishment for your garden.  These are the pH and ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential) which both provide a deficiency of, or abundance of, extra electrons to the water.  Because the 5.5 pH acid water is “Hungry” it assists in the dissolving of inorganic matter (solid mineral rock) in the soil and helps with the ion exchange that produces alkaline plant matter in the hydrogen ion exchange.  The lower pH also encourages helpful soil microbes.

This same “Hunger” also exists in nature as rainwater which is typically about 5.5 pH as well.  When this 5.5 pH water gets into the soil it helps dissolve the minerals.  Minerals are what ultimately make up the strength of the flavor; the abundance of measurable nutrients and the overall health of the plant.

The water supplies oxygen to the soil as well as increases the plant’s ability to uptake nutrients.  The 2.5 pH water sprayed topically kills mold, bacteria, fungus, gnats, white flies and aphids  This water is also ideal for growing hydroponics and will be a key player for minimizing the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers in the future.  Go Green and watch your gardens thrive with Kangen Water.”

 Growing Your Own Garden

Growing your own fruits, vegetables and herbs is a great way to have fresh produce at hand every day. This is the case whether you have a plot of land or you are container-gardening with potted plants. If you are consuming the produce from this gardening, then the nourishment that your plants receive is even more vital.  The plants need good water in addition to sunshine and good soil.

It is the case that tap water often contains contaminants such as bacteria and chlorine, which could harm the plants and provide a risk for eating.

Alkaline water can enhance the initial germination process for plants. Slightly alkaline water can help stimulate this process and stimulate growth. Enagic’s Kangen Water with a pH of 9.0 can be an ideal solution for vegetables, fruits and herbal plants. This alkaline water can also help to heal plants which are not doing well.

Food Preparation & Washing of Produce Purchased at Markets

If you don’t have your own garden or if you purchase most of your vegetables and fruits at local markets or stores, then you should be sure to give attention to cleaning the produce properly.  Even organically grown products should be properly cleaned. You can use Strong Kangen Water (pH 11) and Kangen Water® (pH 8.5-9.5) to both clean and disinfect fruits and vegetables.

Strong Kangen Water is a potent emulsifier, which can be employed when produce has been treated with pesticides.  This pH 11 alkalized water can clean the harmful chemicals off the foods.  Since pesticides are oil based, rain water and tap water are unable to eliminate them.  However, Strong Kangen Water effectively battles the germs, bacteria and pesticides.

While the regular Kangen Water® will not have the same disinfective effect, it is still a far superior choice over tap water for rinsing produce.  It will also enhance the flavor of  produce when they are boiled in Kangen Water®.

Therefore, experiment yourself with the different types of Kangen Water® and see how it can enhance your life and your lifestyle.e
